On our way back, we stopped by the Army Museum to learn more
about all this military infrastructure around Leh and a bit of history.
It was an interesting experience. Lots of visitors, most if
not all, from India. The displays talked about recent victories in the never
ending conflict with Pakistan ... captured arms from Pakistani soldiers, letters, pictures, a nice memorial in the back.
Interesting to see how all visitors seemed very proud of the
army’s traditions and history … how many people around the world are really
proud of their countries’ armies?
Back in Leh, we began to unplug from the motorcycle
adventure … disconnecting gadgets, unpacking/repacking, laundry, email, phone
calls, blog posts ... and walk around to see what the town was all about. Nice change of pace!
